We all age and for some, the effects can be more obvious than others. If you dislike the way you look when you view yourself in the mirror, there is something you can do about it. It’s now possible to relieve the visible signs of ageing by using a range of facial aesthetic procedures.

The botox botulinum toxin type A is just one treatment which can produce visible and long lasting results. Consisting of a purified bacterial substance, it works by blocking the muscle’s nerve signals to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and frown lines. It’s ideal for reducing age-related wrinkles like forehead lines, crow’s feet and frown lines.

The botulinum toxin type A treatment only takes 10 minutes and involves a series of small injections to areas of the face that you want to see an improvement. If you have persistent brow lines then over 4 days or so, you will see some good results.

Other alternatives to the botulinum toxin include dermal fillers such as Sculptra and Restylane. Sculptra can smooth out wrinkles and restore lost facial volume which occurs due to ageing. The injectable volumising treatment consists of poly-L-lactic (PLLA) and is designed to stimulate the body’s own resources of collagen to smooth lines and wrinkles, making your face appear younger.

Restylane is an injectable dermal filler which can produce long-lasting results, especially when applied to the nose and mouth. It consists of hyaluronic acid and is mostly used to enhance or add volume to the lips and to diminish wrinkles and age lines on the face. Crow’s feet and frown lines can all benefit from this treatment. Follow-up sessions are recommended around 6 to 12 months later.
