Many of our patients originally come to us for complete smile makeovers and become regular clients, while others pop in to see us for regular preventative dental care, including check-ups and cleanings but are generally happy with their smile.
We Take Preventative Care Very Seriously
We place a lot of emphasis on preventative dental care, and this is the reason why we like to see all of our patients at regular intervals, generally once every six months or so. These check-ups are very important as they enable us to keep a close eye on your oral health, and we can monitor any potential problems so we can take action before they develop into anything that requires major work. This means any fillings can be detected even before they cause you any symptoms, preserving as much of your natural tooth as possible. Dental x-rays allow Dr Rik Trivedi and all of our dentists to see what is going on in between your teeth, and in other areas that are hidden from view. If you are likely to have any problems with impacted wisdom teeth or have areas of bone loss then these will show up on your x-rays.
An examination for oral cancer is an extremely important part of your preventative dental care. This disease doesn’t occur very frequently, but is a cancer that is often detected very late in the day, when treatment needs to be much more invasive, and is likely to be less effective. Our dentist in Kent will examine all your oral tissues for any changes such as any lumps or rough areas, or changes in colour. One of the most common symptoms is having a sore spot or ulcer that fails to heal within a reasonable time frame. It is worth contacting us for advice if you have an ulcer that doesn’t seem to be healing.
