Dr Rik Trivedi and all the dentists at Parrock Dental and Implant Centre will always do their best to make your teeth last as long as possible, and this is one of the reasons why we always advocate preventative dental care. However sometimes a tooth can become damaged or broken down and it may require more extensive restorative treatment.

Even though fillings can be used to restore quite large areas of decay, they’re not always the best course of treatment as the sometimes the loss of tooth structure can weaken the tooth substantially. In this case the tooth can be restored using something that will help to strengthen the remaining tooth structure, preventing it from breaking down even further. This will hopefully prevent it from being lost, so you don’t need to think about replacing it with a dental implant in Kent.

CEREC restorations can be used for inlays and onlays. These replace large areas of decay than conventional fillings and are milled from a single block of porcelain so they are really pretty strong and long-lasting. Even better, there’s no need to wait for weeks on end while our dental laboratory constructs these custom-made restorations.

Did you know we have a CEREC Machine?

We have a CEREC milling machine right here at Parrock Dental and Implant Centre and we can make your restoration while you wait. Treatment is completed in one simple visit, as your tooth will be prepared and scanned using a special camera. Our dentists in Kent will design your inlay, onlay or crown, and will send the information to the milling machine. A typical CEREC restoration takes just twenty minutes to be milled, during which time you can sit back and relax with our DVD system.

CEREC porcelain blocks come in a wide variety of shades and translucencies so your restoration will be virtually invisible. This restorative treatment is extremely healthy for your teeth as a minimal amount of tooth structure needs to be removed, helping to maintain the strength of your tooth.

We often use CEREC for dental restorations that are being used to repair teeth, but the system can also be used to create wonderful veneers. It is also ideal if you have a dental emergency such as a chipped or broken tooth right before an important event.
